Hi all with regards to the HID Xenon lights ..in april I bought a kit in a shop in Puyang and brought home to Australia for a mate ..
He fitted it to his Suzuki M109 (1800cc cruiser) almost immediately ..this thing throws some serious light out ..like a football field on wheels...and a bright white light..
He is extremely happy with it ..I hope to fit some to my VStrom 1000 soon and will give another full report after...

Great stuff! You impression and advice on installation would be welcome, as well as pictures of course.

How much did your buddy's unit cost you?

You could send a PM to Nuhaus. He got HID's installed at the Shanghai moto mart in both his Chinese 125 cc scooter and his Chinese made Suzuki GZ150. Both worked quite well, although he tried to convert his scooter to HID projector beams and it didn't work, mainly due to fitting issues.

The little Suzuki has no problem running the HID in its stock headlight, and it passed Chinese tech inspection with it installed as well. He would be able to say how much, etc.

    Some caveats.

HID's, esp. cheap ones, take some time to warm up. This isn't a problem, but it makes flicking your lights at people a problem in countries where headlights are generally off in the day.

You will also need space to put a ballast. This is not a problem for the Suzuki, as there is a small compartment under the seat. It might be a problem for dirtbikes. I haven't found a space on my Rebel unless I remove the airbox. YMMV.
