I'm planning to change the tires on my Qingqi QM200GY / Qlink XF200. It's current tire size is 130/70/17 for the rear and 110/70/17 for the front.

My question is, can I use 140/70/17 for the rear or should I stick with the 130? Others are suggesting to get 140/60/17. I can't imagine why...

    My choices are:

    Duro HF918

    An RX-01 by IRC tires

or, if I get lucky an
    Arrowmax by Dunlop (GT-501)

Any inputs would be appreciated. No problem with the front, I would still be using 110/70/17 on it Thanks

    Nutty,

The 140 should fit but you'd need to check the clearance between the tire sidewall and swing arm. Also with a 140/70 it should be a little taller than the 130/70...not just wider. That may or may not make a perceivable different in handling as a taller rear end would load more weight to the front.

A 140/60 may keep a closer overall wheel diameter closer to stock while giving you the extra width your looking for. Don't forget, the profile number is a ratio of width to height.

PS - Don't forget the Pirelli Sport Demon... These get some very good reviews and come in your size. Ninja 250 riders are big fans of these tires.

Metzeler Lasertec and Kenda K671 come in the stock size. Try using the tire finder they have here http://www.bikebandit.com/ Easiest thing i've found. Just a couple clicks to find the right size, and it brings up a list of whats available. I wish all tire sites were that easy to navigate
