I stumbled across the following. Read the full story.

An African student who drove drunk and killed a pedestrian in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei Province, on Thursday was expelled from China and ordered to pay 80,000 yuan to the victim's family, local newspaper Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.
Be careful when it comes to + , police don't joke anymore, even without accident.

    Ride safe

For some reason I thought you were referring to this story:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32123148...s-asiapacific/

The above guy is a Chinese national sentenced to death for killing people after driving drunk.

I was given that link by a friend of mine the other day with the attached note "You sure you want to drive on the road with these idiots?"

Driving Chinese roads is a true hazard at the best of times. If it's not the road conditions it's the other drivers you're sharing space with. That being said, the other day while driving in Canada (yay for summer vacations) I came closer to an accident than I did the whole time I was in China. Some idiot decided to swerve into my lane to get around someone turning left without either signalling or doing a shoulder check and I almost became one with a Ford Econoline.

And yes, the and the are most definitely not a good combination. Lock your bike up for the night and call a taxi.

Wasn't a drunken French scooter rider responsible for the recent crackdown on foreigners riding bikes in Shanghai? Also, an acquaintance of mine broke his arm and his skull recently while riding drunk, so there are plenty of reasons not to do it.

Well looks like things are getting serious and they've started the herd thinning process. If it was really fair, they should issue tickets to half of all cars on the road in China every morning for "driving after waking up".

I swear it has the same symptoms as +.
