01-30-2023, 10:43 AMAnyone know any easy way to remove the air filer element on a 2018 sinnis apache 125. I tried to open the air box but to many obstructions and don't have the time to take apart the bike to change a filter.
I have a engine check light on and power is down. Tried new spark plug. I think my air filter is clogged.

Note: the air filter element fits in side ways; LHS side cover.
You'll need a Phillips headed screwdriver & an 8mm rachet socket or spanner.
You may also need a torch or similar good lighting.
Remove the LHS side cover (two screws).
Locate the air box/filter cover (three screws).
Once the air box filter cover is removed, locate the bolt which passes through the air filter/cage.
(as you look at the air filter, on the side that faces towards the rear wheel of the bike is where you should be able to see/locate the 8mm bolt, move the foam a bit to help locate the head of the bolt - you may need the torch) [the bolt doesn't face towards the side cover [EAST to WEST), rather its orientated NORTH to SOUTH in line with the bike].
A 8mm ratchet socket would make the bolt removal less onerous (just sayin).
Remove the bolt and the air filter cage/foam filer element.
The foam filter can be removed from the cage, inspected/cleaned/replaced/apply foam filer oil etc.
When its time to refit the air filter it might be helpful to locate the hole (that the 8mm bolt attaches) on the forward facing side of the air box.
Apply reverse method/technique to refit etc.
Hopefully this helps...
Take some photos/video during the process and post em here...
Shiny side up!

01-30-2023, 12:25 PMI think my apache is different. I watched a YouTube video on how to remove it and it sounds like the method you describing.
On my bike there is no lid with 3 screws. There is a lid on the right side with 4 or 5 screws but to get the lid of it looks like you have to drop the whole box down.
I'll try it later on the week when I have time.
Cheers

01-31-2023, 01:36 PMOk I found how to remove it.
Remove left panel. Remove retaining screw, slide out air filter to the side. Rather simple.
I blew it and engine check light is still on.

Must be a different model/year.
Not sure then.
Sounds as though that 'box' on the RHS possibly wouldn't be the air box, as it sounds too restrictive to access which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense given that the air filter needs to be accessible etc.
