Benelli (QianJiang) has expanded their adventure bike lineup with the unveiling of the new BKX300 at EICMA. The entry-level bike is an evolution of the concept unveiled in 2022, now boasting an increase in power while retainng its sleek styling.
Benelli says the small adventurer was developed with a younger generation of riders in mind who will appreciate its approachable performance, versatility and modern looks. The beating heart of the BKX300 is a brand new 292cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder engine with a 42mm throttle body, the newest iteration of the current 250cc featured on the TRK251 and Leoncino 250.

The engine, in Euro 5+ configuration, delivers a maximum power output of 29hp at 9000 rpm and 18.1 ft-lb at 7000rpm. The chain-driven timing features a double overhead camshaft with 4 valves with a 6 speed gearbox.
In addition to the increase in displacement, updates have been made to the thermal, ballast and transmission components. Thanks to the increased bore, it was possible to increase the diameter of the intake and exhaust valves and consequently redesign the combustion chamber. The counter balance shaft was also redesigned to reduce vibrations and increase reliability.
The exhaust system is new, with a longer manifold for a more full-bodied torque curve. Also new is the back-torque limiting slipper clutch, which reduces the clutch lever actuation force at the handlebar, as well as making gear shifting smoother.
The engine is housed in a steel double cradle frame while suspension at the front consists of a 41mm upside-down fork with 7.1in (180 mm) of travel. On the rear there is a pre-load adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage and 7.1in (180 mm) of travel. Seat height is kept at 32.9in (837 mm).

The whole package rolls on 19”/17” spoked wheels while braking is handled by a single 280mm disc with a four-piston caliper on the front and a 240mm disc with a single-piston floating caliper on the rear wheel. The bike tips the scale at a claimed curb weight of 364lbs (165 kg).
Rounding out the features found on the new BKX300 are a simple LCD display that displays essential data combined with a single USB port. The package is completed with a projector type headlight with DRL.
Benelli is the second oldest Italian manufacturer still in operation, though the marque has been owned by Chinese Qianjiang (QJ Motor) since 2005. According to Benelli, the BKX300 was developed at the Benelli Style Center in Pesaro, Italy – the company’s birthplace.

The BKX300 is expected to be available at dealers worldwide starting from the second half of 2024. Pricing is yet to be released and Benelli hasn't confirmed availability to the American market. Additionally, the manufacturer says they will be launching a 125cc and 250cc version for some markets. Benelli also revealed that they are working on a BKX300 variant with a more off-road oriented 21” front wheel, although no confirmed production or availability date.
