Thanks Franki, we will be in Yunnan between May 10 and May 15, keep me posted on your location and maybe we will let you buy us dinner.
Euphonius is correct, on the V-Strom I'm using the 5023 on the left (no exhaust) and the 5020 on the right (exhaust side). The wife gets the bigger one . This picture will give you a good visual comparison. From left to right, 5023 - 5020 - 4618
Thanks for the great comments guys, please share other opinions or info on luggage as I'm always trying to learn more and get new ideas.
Cheers!

I'm not sure if I should be quoting the Beatles or AC/DC
Baby's In Black / Back in Black
Oh well, I've gone to the dark side and black is beautiful.
and so is Red CNC Bling Bling
If you like this stuff, tell Galaxy...
We want Black Rally Gas Tanks.
We want Exotic CNC goodies.
From what I've heard, the first batches of this stuff didn't sell that great. Galaxy gets a big for making nice stuff, they just need to market it a little better and I'm sure it will sell.
Cheers

04-26-2010, 09:15 PMWhoa there moilami !
I do have a first name you know, perhaps you could do me the courtesy of using it ?
I haven't "Fallen to Misery" and given up on my XTR just yet.
I have a young Family, and my kids take priority....I don't have the time that I used to have. When I do get time away from Family commitments, I want to be riding, not tinkering......on something that should work anyway
Before the kids where around was a different story. I did have the time to tinker back then, and enjoyed it as much as riding.......I am a Mechanical Engineer by trade after all !
I used to own a BMW R1100GS and converted the front "beak" and windscreen over to the more modern looking R1150GS "beak" and windscreen, which took quite a lot of cutting and carving.......see here :-

I notice that someone is importing your XTR for you......you should give importing one by yourself a go first, before you start criticising other people.
That's not what this forum is about, it's about like minded individuals helping one another out and offering good natured help and advice.
I just hope that you have spares backup in Finland, because will find out for yourself how demoralising it will be trying to obtain parts direct from Galaxy.
Sorry to highjack your thread China V, rant over ! keep up the good work
Cheers
Andy

04-27-2010, 01:24 AMChinaV,
this is a great looking bike!!!
BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL
The ape-hanger bar is something to get used to a bit though... You surely will have a great trip on it. We all hope to see an RR here coming up after so many mouth-watering posts.
Ride Safe!
AW.

Looks great in black V! I noticed the taller bars as well. Did you go to them because risers were not an option? Also, are the black parts from Galaxy or did you paint them yourself?
