My toys are stored inside and don't see much rain, so I haven't noticed any signs of rust or oxidation. The hardware used on most Chinese bikes is pretty poor grade. The Galaxy has a lot of aluminum, so it's probably less prone to rusty parts.

    Hi ChinaV,

I am going to factory to get the bike licensed Dec. 7 and should be in and out of the factory for a few days to sort things out. Then I want to head for Hainan to break in the bike. If you are in that area or are interested to come to the factory, please call my China mobile no.

I think I have lost your no. due to a hickup of my cell phone.

    Cheers,

    Franki

    Hi Franki,
You must be really excited about picking your new bike up ? How about some pictures of it when you get it ?
Could you do me a favour whilst you are at Galaxy, and ask how the production of mine is coming along, if it's not too much trouble ?
    Cheers

    Hi Andy,

I am in China now and riding my new bike. I should be returning back to the factory tomorrow afternoon. I shall be asking about your biike's status but I can't promise on getting an reply over to you as I might not have internet access. After Dec. 10, I shall be heading for Hainan Island to run in my bike before [acking it up and ship to Yunnan. That will be the real start of my adventure rides.

If there is anything that needs your urgent attention, of which I doubt very much, I will have ChinaV to contact you here.

Expecting is a winderful thing to have

    Franki

    Hi Franki,

Cheers Mate, i really appreciate it

Was just wondering if the new tank design is going to slow production down ? I told Lydia from Galaxy that I would be happy with the old style tank, if it would speed things up. She said that they would try and offer me the new tank design if it didn't take too much time to sort out.

Thanks again, and enjoy your trip

    Best Wishes

    Andy

I can't wait to hear how the new bike is working. (I want the good and bad details) I and another teacher are very interested in it.

kingdm54, I am sure these bikes are pretty much top of the line for China...plus you are in China, so parts are easy to come by!

I stopped by the Galaxy factory last week to order up some parts and gawk at frankis new ride. They've made some nice changes to the bike, but I'll let franki cover that later when they finish everything.

Here is the XTR Adventure/Rally/Franki edition. Galaxy already had a good start on this with their Taklamakan bikes, coming along quite nicely I think.

Franki and friend pose for a photo op.

Andy, I didn't see your bike, but Lydia said they are working on it. Interesting to note that yours will be fuel injected, I guess they have to do that to meet emissions in the UK.

Wish this one could be registered in China.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the update China V, i really appreciate it
Hmm fuel injection eh ? Hope that won’t over complicate things ?
I notice on Franki’s bike it has what looks like an up rated red rear brake pedal...do you know if that’s standard on the new bikes now, or an upgrade specified by Franki ?
I really love the look of that TGR 250 as well , it wasn’t on their website when I placed the order for my XTR, if I’d have Known about it, then I would have ordered one instead of the XTR...oh well, never mind
    Cheers

Nice to the see the racks on there with the extended tank. Couple of comments though...

    1) Are they going to level out the rear rack?
    2) How about widening the last 3/4 of the seat?
    3) The saddle bag standoffs may perform better if they are several inches forward.... 2 main reasons being better weight distribution/mass centralization and less danger of the exhaust pipe hitting any saddlebag material coming over the rack.
    4) Does the alternator have enough output for auxiliary lighting?
    5) Much of the extended range fuel tank looks like it's below the carb/fi unit. Is there a fuel pump on the bike?
