Whoa! Pulled that one out of a hat!
I swear I've seen that funky looking headlight/fender combo before but can't quite place the manufacturer. Interesting this 400 uses the same gauge set as the QingQi but instead of a tacho you get an engine temp gauge?Between the two I'd rather have a tach.
This bike begs a little more digging into. Would love to see some first hand, well photographed reviews of these bikes. Who knows... I could even see about getting someone published!![]()

Looks exactly like the xingyue xy400y2, Pitster must have got their guys on it and uped the design + QC, I remember reading somewhere that puzey dropped the whole xingyue line b/c it was plagued with problems. So given the whole puzey/pitster connection, I'm sure its definitely not a xingyue.
lol beat me to it
Wow, interesting news, Chrome! And you found out before I did, LOL. I do think it looks Xingyue-derived, and the Xingyue-Puzey connection might have something to do with it. It is probably not as off-roadable as the 250cc, but would be better for commuting. I just hope that it is dependable enough as Pitster has a good reputation in spite of the Chinese origins of its line-up![]()
Found that thread. Seems everybody loves the xtr, but the xing 400 were problems and discontinued by puzey. Mind this was the beemer clone explorer model.
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't all the xing 400's share the share the same engine

Also I ran a search on alibaba and found them under the names sklon, ningbo golden motor, farspeed, ander, wenling, fribest, gomexus, xingyue and xingyu (which has that LC 250 loncin). As usual color me confused.![]()

My guess is that the video was done in Utah. My beef with the 2 Pitster videos that we have seen is that they have too many edits and music for that "slick" MTV bs look/feel. I would rather have several "natural" videos showcasing their product doing some stuff in the wild. Can't win, but at least we get to see the bikes doing stuff.
