01-09-2011, 12:45 PMHi Everyone,
I am a new member, living in Zimbabwe.
I have been looking at the possibility of manufacturing a small trick/stunt bike on a small scale. I want to use principally Chinese components and possibly eventually manufacture there if there is sufficient customer interest.
My main need at this point is to find a good quality 200 - 250cc single, water cooled, ohc motor from China at a reasonable price. Good quality adjustable usd forks and rear shock also needed.
I would also appreciate advice on which manufacturers to approach for eventual manufacture.
Many thanks in advance for your help or advice.

I ain't connected to any factories so i can't help that much, but you might want to take a look at the 250cc plant that powers the Shineray X2 and the Yingang YG250NF. It's a water cooled DOHC that makes decent power for a chinese 250 engine.

01-10-2011, 10:20 AMThe Shineray Guys told me that Yingang buys the engine from them
In China you never know who actually manufactures what - anybody is buying from everybody. Factory Inspection is definetly needed to verify the "real" manufacturer.

01-10-2011, 11:08 AMDoes anyone know the source of the 250 motor used by Megelli? I have heard Sym, made in Taiwan.
What would a 250 motor cost from China?

01-10-2011, 11:27 PMsee - the truth will be only found by factory inspection...
If any body goes, please check several entrance gates of the factory area, they may have different company names plated on the gates, depending whos customers are comming. All seen already.Last edited by andre555; 01-11-2011 at 08:33 AM.

yep... ROFL... they'll just as likely mock up a "factory" to look the part, complete with some locals paid off with some kuai etc for the day... wear some uniforms and stand at the appointed spots, assembly lines etc on queue... it won't be the first time nor the last time that a "stupid" laowai is duped :P
*** WARNING*** TIC
Even real manufacturers can be less than ideal, and real first hand site visits, inspections are mandatory... and don't use a agent, or middle man to do your bidding... come here and see everything first hand, do DUE DILIGENCE with anyone you plan to sign a contract with (it is just a sheet (or two) paper after all...
