Greetings from the US! I have been on the hunt for an exhaust system for my 2014 cfmoto 650nk. I have noticed that the er6n pipes are eerily similar...refer to the pics. My question is, has anyone had any visual confirmations that the systems are indeed the same? Or has anyone actually used a er6n pipe on their 650nk?

    Thanks!!

I think the very early er6 exhausts are a full system, where as the 650nk and later er6 are the same.

I hope someone can chip in with an answer from personal experience, and ideally with some actual data.

My 2c. They aren't the same. The CFMOTO engine and fueling are different. As aftermarket mufflers and exhaust systems change within manufacturers according to the year it would be very unlikely you could shove an ER6N pipe on and expect an hp and torque improvement. You would certainly find a weight saving and a sound improvement which might make a psychological impression of performance improvement, but how it would effect the fueling is an expensive gamble until you put the bike on a dyno. The CFMOTO is based from a 2006 ER6 and if I was going to try maybe I'd try that. I think the pipes are close enough you probably wouldn't cause any damage.

The 650NK and 650TR aka 650YK share the same running gear (engine, transmission etc). If you are looking at just the muffler, 'end-can' that removes the catalytic converter or 'box of tricks' then look at some of the threads/posts listed in this CFMoto 650 Compilation thread as there are a few CF650's that have undergone that muffler transplant including my 650TR.
If you're looking at replacing the whole exhaust system (header pipes included) with something like a Yoshi exhaust system, then that is a different proposition and IMO you'll need a specialist tuner for that...

    YMMV

Luckily my dealer has a dyno. Hmmmm....I wonder if an er6n powercommander will fit the nk. That way I can order a system (return it if it doesnt fit, or modify it) and get the Powercommander to help sort out the fueling issue. Problem is, the 650nk is not very popular, yet, here in the States, so parts are hard to find :/

    ****UPDATE****

The Kawasaki er6n AND Ninja 650r pipes WILL fit the 650nk perfectly. I ordered a Competition Werks slip on for the er6n and it fit right up. So, if you want to get more choices for pipes, this will open up the market a LOT

The bike is running great! Dyno'd at 60hp with the pipe. I can feel the slight drop in weight. I went ahead and bought the powercommander V (12-008) and is actually at the shop getting tuned. I'll be picking it up this weekend. Check out my other thread for all that info :)

the cfmoto has "two" oxygen sensors in the stock header pipes where as the er6n only has one at its at the tail end.

the rest of the pipe seems to be the same.

is this a problem? and how can it be fixed? or worked around
