05-08-2008, 01:21 AMHey everyone,
First time bike owner here, I was riding a little 48cc scooter (that I still have and like) until recently when Mike helped me get my new one. Great ride, but I have yet to test her open the back deep back roads of China, so wish me luck this weekend!
I come from the U.S. of A and was raised in Cali, but moved to Seattle for six years before I became an Ex-pat. Think I will stay in the far east for another year, and then who knows where, maybe Chile?
I look forward to getting to know this forum and the people who lurk about on it, until then, keep riding.

05-21-2008, 12:07 PMI actually have no riding experience prior to my time in "Big Red", or China as it is also known. When my G-friend and I first came to our little corner of Asia we purchased a 48cc scooter to get around, and I have been driving that for the past six months. This summer I will set out solo and travel around a bit, wish me luck!

05-23-2008, 06:20 AMI will leave from my sleepy little Qinzhou and ride up the coast to Wenzhou to teach for the summer. I have about two weeks to make the trek, so I hope to find a cool village or two to camp out in for a while as I go. By the way I read your blog and your big post here on C-moto, very cool!

Dude, a SE China coastal ride report would be awesome and two weeks sounds like a good amount of time for it. I hope it pans out. Let us know how the preparation is going. What you taking?

05-24-2008, 04:35 PMAs far as bikes go, my new Shineray XY150GY-B with a 200cc engine, lovingly named "Falcore" shall be my companion and stead. Since my G-friend and I are moving, I will only be sporting a full sized pack and riding gear while she returns home. Everything is confirmed and preparations are well under way, there will most definitely be a write up about the trip. You have any plans this summer?

Your trip sounds like a good one and taking a sweeping look at the coastal cities of China could be a book by itself. You gonna photo your trip?
ChinaV and I were supposed to be on the road right now but the earthquake kinda threw a wrench in things. Waiting for things to clear up a little in the mountains and we'll be out.

05-29-2008, 09:48 AMYeah I think photos will be in order, I have a little pocket snapper, nothing big. During the trip I will be moving our stuff, so I am trying to keep space down while having everything I will need. Any tips you might impart to a newbie?
Good luck on your trip, it looks really tore up in that area physically, not to mention the general environment. The locals sound like they could become more vocal about their displeasure concerning which buildings that crumbled and why. It really is a tragic mess.
