Can anyone shed any light on why my adrenaline pulse has died. it is now sat in my local garage and they have no idea why there is no power. No lights no starter nothing like the ignition is disengaged. They need a electrical diagram if anyone could post one that will be great. I have read many posts of similar problems but they all have some form of life...lights, indicators etc. Mine got nothing! If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. D

Hi Dan, sorry to read of your troubles. Nowt worse than electrics.

It worries me that the garage is asking you to provide a wiring diagram. I've heard of muppet garages asking for this before. Have they asked you for any tools yet? I'd keep well away.

There is nothing they will do that you can't do with a mutimeter (about £7 B&Q). It's just a matter of using it to systematically check the components starting with the battery. Tedious. But you don't get a cracking big bill.

From what you've stated, if it aint the battery, odds on it's the fuse blown or ignition swtich fault (you've all but stated this yourself!) or some connectors oxidised/wet. I trust you've done the WD-40 treatment.

Indeed. Fix it yourself. Then you will know a hawk from a handsaw.

Just wanted to say thanks to the replies. I took on board the comments and fixed it myself. It turned out the battery needed to be replaced and my old alarm that i never use was draining it and a multitude of corroded connections along with bad kill switch was the cause. The only reason it went to the garage in the first place was because it needed to be picked up from where it broke down and also i just don't have any spare time on my hands! Today i was off work cos of snow so set about the bike. Oil changed and filter, new air filter installed, new chain and more importantly i now have brakes!!! Although to most all this is basic stuff but for me it was a first ever, So thanks to this website/forum because through hours of reading i have achieved this. Also it feels like a new bike and more importantly i can stop using my brakes and not my gears which ain't been possible for months!!! Thanks all and i will be asking for more help in the future im sure, sorry i can't give any back! D.

    Dan,

It's a super satisfying feeling when you can fix your own bike AND, not to mention, save a couple bucks in the meantime. Congrats on the happy and safer outcome!

Giving back is a matter of:

    1) Staying safe and...
    2) Sharing your new found knowledge whenever you can.

This is a relatively small industry so every little bit helps!

    Happy Trails,
    CC
