Hey recracer missed yor post somehow, here is a pic of the shock linkage - oil is from an oil change; spilled a bit - put 20w50 in and made a huge difference - bike warms up fast and runs a lot smoother. Change your oil asap if its the shipping oil - that stuff was nasty!

Here is a video, in Spanish, of the Pitster/Xingyue 400 from Pitster's Costa Rican distributor.

The Xingyue XY400Y-2 designer is a friend of mine. He left the company because he felt the boss is no longer interested in manufacturing motorcycles, they shifted into realestate business. Therefore, I hesitated in buying this bike. I wonder how does this reflect on the future development of XY400 and related products.

It really is a good looking bike. I almost bought one till I found the JH600. I went for more engine to haul my fat arse. Threads from Franki, Pfaelzer, and Euph sealed the deal for the JH with me. That being said, I think the XY400Y-2 looks better than the JH. I hope the bike survives, we need more big bore dual sport choices here in China. Good Luck with yours.

Are the 400's easily available in China? Can you get them plated?

I was in discussions with these people when I found the JH600. No idea if these people are legit dealer or thieves. But they seemed eager to supply me a couple.
See the thread below with the contact information and cost for 2 delivered to China. I am sure a Chinese bike can get a plate somehow but I cannot be positive.

    Dear David:

If you only want 2-3 units the cost delivered to Nanjing will be $2450.00 ea. this includes the sample fees and shipping fees.

This motorcycle is very high quality.

The bike is available in China. The price is 17800yuan to 18800yuan.
You can register the bike before July 1, 2010.

The Chinese goverment is going to upgrade the emission standard. All bikes that use carburetor won't be able to get registered after July 1, 2010. Xingyue400 will switch to Electric fule Injection by then.
