Just wondering, I have a Kinlon 200 rt and thought a rev counter may be a good idea, is this an easy bolt-on mod, or is it engine specific?

You could always add something like a TinyTach which just involves wrapping a wire around the spark plug wire.

Looks like your bike has the same push rod engine as my Lifan. IMO there's no need for a tach on these engines because they run out of power long before they reach red line.

I get your point and my rev limiter cuts in usually anyway, so it wasn't so much about red-lining as gear changing! My problem is I am going deaf a bit and don't instinctively change at the right time from engine sound anymore, have even left it in too low a gear once or twice so I thought a visual cue might help. I will have to rely on the 'seat of pants' vibes to let me know.
