Just as I was searching for motorcycle expo info, I stumbled upon this site. I am planning for a trip to Beijing June 11 for a couple of days then head down/up to Shanghai for the other expo. Looking forward to learn more about Chinese bike riders and Chinese built bikes. I myself started on a FZ6 but now, I ride a VFR and have been riding for about 5 years now.

    Nice to meet y'all.

Hi everyone, My name is Bi, kerholic. I have been sober for about .... oops, wrong meeting.

Hello, greetings from the far east (coast).

To answer your question, I am interested in more than just riding. Little about myself, I have been away from HK/China since I was 10 and haven't look back since. Now that I'm older, married with children. I now have the urge to reconnect with a country I used to fear.
How I stumble upon thee. Let me elaborate.
A few days back, while I was searching for a new clutch lever to replace my "bended" Pazzo (I dropped my bike while I was down in Myrtle Beach for the BBW). I stumble upon a brand from Taiwan not available here in the state. Which got me thinking about a possible business opportunity. After searching on Google, Alibaba then I reached out to the manufacture. Found out they are showcasing their products at the annual 2010 MOTORCYCLE TAIWAN April 15-18 2010台灣國際機車展. By this point, I had begun searching for flight to Taiwan. Then I realized if I am heading to Taiwan, might as well drop by China. I started to search for Motorcycle Expo in China and Google led me to here. EICMA. With not being able to visit the Taiwan Motorcycle 2010. I decided to try to visit all three Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai cities.

I have a cousin who also left HK not long after we left, but they went towards the great white north, Canada and we immigrated here in the State. I told him about the trip and asked him to come along. This will be our first time back to China since we both bid it farewell back in the eighties. He rides a Honda VTX 1800, I rides a Honda VFR 800 Interceptor. He rides down from Toronto and comes to visit me and my family once in a while. We both share a strong passion with riding (especially the community) and all related accessories.

We plan to visit the EICMA then head down to Shanghai for the world expo and throw in Hong Kong just for a good measure. But if we obtain the necessary paper work, we might even be able to save on flight within China aka Domestic pricing.

As for riding in China; If it present itself, we will surely take up any opportunity. God knows our riding season (NYC & Toronto) lasted about only 6 months out of the year. I have been trying to convince my cousin to move down to ATL purely for the riding opportunity alone.

Beside Chinese motorcycle, I like slow walks on the beach, to fetch a jerry can from the adjacent gas station. Movies, about dying motorcyclist (Chow Young Fat). Diamonds, in the shape of a handle bar grip with shiny bar ends. If you want to ask me out, you best check with my owner (aka wife) first.

So, how yooo doing (Brooklyn accent)

P.S. I broke the other lever today while trying to apply the center stand when I was giving her a wash.

Greetings Bikerholic, a very nice introduction. I am at the Taiwan Motorcycle show right now. It's a small show with some interesting stuff, I will try to post a mini report later. Enjoy your travels to China, but try to get out of the big cities and see some of the countryside. That's where the good stuff and good people are.

    Cheers!
