04-28-2010, 03:22 PMI'm getting ready to take the written test here in Wuhan. I'm looking for the 800-question bank (from which 100 random questions will be chosen). Anyone know where I can find this on the internet? I already have the car ("motor vehicle") question bank, but I need the motorcycle question bank.
Thanks
Dan

Took the test here in Nanjing three weeks ago. The test is in Chinese here so I hired "official translator" and she helped a lot. Best RMB500 I ever spent in China. If Wuhan has similar services, I highly recommend ponying up the cash.

04-29-2010, 11:41 AMI took the test today. It was in English.
Road test in five days, then another road test after that.

This is China. Things are not standardized for sure. I was fortunate, only had to translate my USA license and take the written test. Good luck and do not give up. TIC

04-29-2010, 11:47 AMThe English versions are readily available, so it seems like the license office there in Nanjing has a little money-on-the-side thing going on.
I don't have a motorcycle license from any country, so I have to take the road tests.

No idea what the difference is but I been here 6 years and finally took care of getting legal. It was worth every penny to be done and over quickly. It took two days to get the paperwork needed agreed upon but I was in and out 1/2 day after that. The lady who translated for me made it easy. Good luck to you.

04-29-2010, 12:11 PMHere in Wuhan, as of April 1 this year, non-Wuhan residents (including foreigners) can apply for motorcycle licenses. That's why I'm finally taking the tests.
Congrats on your license, it must make riding a better experience, what with not having to worry about getting stopped by police and all.

To be honest, I have always been treated like a king here. I have only been stopped once and the guy just told me to get a plate for my CJ750. Very nice about it. I am sure Wuhan has lots of stories to tell. You are farther up river than I am. I hope you enjoy your time riding. Let me know if you get to Nanjing.

04-29-2010, 12:45 PMI rode 6500 km through southwest China, got stopped twice. Both times I just was friendly and pretended to not speak Chinese. The first time, got a 500 rmb fine, the second time the police let me go with a smile.
Thanks for the welcome... same to you re: Wuhan!
