MyChinaMoto.com got a sneak peak at one of Jialing's new 250cc single cylinder sport bikes.

JH250 Hi-Sport features a more modern perimeter frame and USD forks. No statistics or information about where/when it will be released but rumor has it Jialing will be bringing 250cc bikes to North America for a second round.

Unfortunately we were not able to get a mug shot but I'd possibly like to see this same bike with dual round head lamps. Since Jialing has displayed rather qwerky styling in the past, will the Hi-Sport's looks appeal to the international market as is?

Thanks for the pics! The styling is not too bad imho. Some the pieces look like they were part of the initial design.

It's competition would be the Ninja 250 and Hyosung GT250 in the states. Their design is more aesthetically pleasing I think. It would all come down to price.

If I was a Chinese company I would study why bikes like the KLR650, sv650 and other similar cult favorites do so well. There has to be something functionally unique that people cling to. KLR is a good all around bike for a decent price. SV has engine characteristics that make it good on the track with some cheap mods and the price is good.

At this engine size I think decent styling is sufficient but it needs another hook to win the customer. Styling alone would have to be extremely cool to make the bike sell well.

Right on about the hooks...and everything else. The companies really need to focus on making a signature model and slowly developing it as a core for their company phiolsophy, kind of like Suzuki and the Busa-BKing but on a much less "AWESOME" level.

I also think that if a company is going to compete in the "street "category they'll have to do more with multiple cylinders because the thumpers (which are great for dual-sport) really poop out hard at the top end and make running at higher speeds difficult.

Either way, it's nice to see the number "250" show up more often from the manufacturers and a strong sign that things are moving in the right direction. I think 2009 will be an exciting year for CMotos!

I think Speed Triple lights would look good on some of these bikes. While I think Jialing can make some good bikes, they're styling seems to hint of the late 80's and early 90's. Would be nice to see them take some chances!

Has anyone had or heard of any experiences with JialingUSA? They're a major player and haven't heard much about new models actually releasing in North America. Their USA site only has a relatively outdated line-up of bikes.

JialingUSA hasn't responded to my emails and a google didn't come up with any American brick&mortar who claimed to be a Jialing dealer.
