Nice to see this thread is still alive and kicking. I have left my JH600 in storage for over a year now. I miss her more and more

My bike is an European model but I have converted it back to twin headlight and have been using a Philips 55/65W bulbs ever since. I have had no problem with it but I really try to limit my night riding. I only use the pilot light when riding day time.

"Pilot light"? What is that? Some form of daytime running light that you have wired in?

I operate my JH600 with low beams during daytime running (which, of course, everyone around feels obligated to point out the stupid foreigner who forgot to turn his lights off).

Pilot light is the small 5w light bulb that came standard with the bike.

It is the stupid laws in China that requires headlight to be turned off during daylight hours that caused the kind hearted road users around you to point at you.

By the way, anyone interested to read a ride report of Tibet can go there: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=614181

When told my headlight is on, I used to engage with these guys at stoplights explaining the safety benefits of having your headlight on during the day...but no one quite understood this.

Now I find it easier just to respond with “坏了!” (Broken!). The guy now just gives me a look of understanding, rather than confusion. I'm not a stoplight conversationalist, so this makes everyone happier.

    bump!

Franki, haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is well. I saw this Girl on a Motorcycle video about the JH600 and thought it was a great reason to bump your thread. It's a video review by a Los Angeles Times reporter who rode the JH600 a couple thousand km along the Silk Road.

Call me pathetic, but I haven't figured out how to post this video directly in this post.

    cheers

    Bumping Franki's venerable thread again!

This time to show a little video that apparently has been released by Jialing themselves. This is what it looks like when a state-owned Chinese enterprise with military roots tries to film a sexy motorcycle promotion...

(Needless to say, since it's youtube, mainland viewers will need to run their grandma busters.)

Haha - that Jialing video is a great find, thanks!

Not bad, actually, but where are the girls? I've heard people from Chongqing say that CQ girls are the prettiest in ALL of China.

    Looked awful lol.

Why so much weeping left to right and back? Is it so unstable ride

Sup with driving on the right near the edge of the walking line? TIC? Mopeds drive there in other countries.

When the dude stopped on slow speed he overused front brake and made the front of the bike go down. Better use only rear brake in slow speed stopping which does not make the front go down.

    3l / 100km. Really? Really? I seriously doubt that.

150km/h? I doubt that because of the previous lie.
