Just found this machine, looks interesting set up like this as an ag bike, doesn't say if it is road register-able but can't be far off: comes in olive green and black as well!

I shall have to look through the Shineray threads again now and see if it has value and virtue! The link below is to a .pdf which has a huge detailed pic you can zoom in on so you can see the Shineray labels and more details. I really like the racks, want them for my Kinlon! The intermediate tyres look good too!

I liked that bike especially in green colour, it gave me impressions of a durable work horse.

Here it is in olive with camo seat (click to enlarge) .... weapons not provided but would be handy on Aussie roads ... !!!!
$2199 AUD or $1800 USD on road (12,438 CNY) not bad at all.

Cool picture, nice large fuel tank and plenty of readily available luggage racks. That bike appears to have potential, just a pity the road report of it in MCM revelead some strange issues, possibly due though of bad servicing and maintenance. Also if it can't do 50 mph without excessive vibration issues it is kinda no no. Anyway, I believe it is kind of typical china bike regarding quality and maintenance and vibration. That is issues exists but nothing too serious to make it a deal breaker.

Yes, I found the long thread where folk had some real problems but I would hope that rather than dumping old stock and crap into this Australian market the Shineray export division would have fixed up the problems on what seems to be a potentially good machine for Aussie farmers and hunters etc! Maybe a vain hope especially as the Shineray Aus website seems to have disappeared. Oh well, it all adds to the info. we have. I think we also have a Shineray representative here as a member, he might answer any questions for us, as after all many potential buyers check this forum before buying china bikes? This thread ended in jan 2010 so could do with an update unless I missed one?

That's my bike!! had for two months now.
Plenty of power to spare on the road. Only felt a little underpowered with two up offroad. I had to stay on first or second gear. Shineray definately fixed alot of things since this bike first came into production. Supersignet says his clamp broke, and then they redesigned the tripple clamp. http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...ull=1#post2553
    But seems mine is different.

    What i like:
    • 20L tank!
    • the price, 8800 rmb.
    • less plastic, no fairings. minimalistic look. and a round headlight(not the best performing headlight, but i like the way it looks).

    Problems?
    • Front mud gaurd was not much protection, so i added another separate section. See this.
    • Rear mud guard, front end, on the inside needs extention.
    • Seat. Change the seat ASAP. I'm trying to find a replacement here in China. The stock seat on it is too soft, really hurts after an hour's ride.
    • Rubber mount the tank, speedo.
    • Rear brake hose broke first time i dropped the bike. Better change both to steel coated hoses.
    • Too much vibrations when i first got the bike, but after the break-in period, and tightening stuff, its ok.

Good luck. I would say that's alot of bike for what rmb i paid.

    Jape,

Kens recently got a Shineray GY7 in Canada and had it for little while now. He's got a thread on it here:

Could be good to find out what's going on with the company in Oz though.... that would be a GREAT bike for the outback!
