    Hi All

I have searched this site and the net, and I can't find anything that will tell me what size the bolts are for the exhaust header on my Pulse Adrenaline K157 FMI.

Does anyone know? I need to replace the badly rusted ones that are on there now. I could source an original part from a supplier without knowing the size, but I would rather source a better quality such as a stainless steel etc etc.

Easiest method Unscrew & measure the size by urself

If it was that simple, I think i would have done that by now. But, there are two reasons why i cant. I need to use the bike to get to the hardware store, and because the bolts are badly rusted if i take them out i wont really be able to put them back in. Plus, i might be able to measure the length but the diameter and thread type needs to be spot on.

But thank you for your suggestion.

Well I decided to take the bolts out, (with some trouble I must add) and was surprised to see how badly corroded they were. I ended up taking them to my local Halfords in the end, and bingo, I managed to find a match.

For anyone interested, the exhaust manifold bolts were a M8 x 25mm.

I thought as i am going to the effort of changing the bolts, that i would opt for the stainless steel version that they had available, just incase they ever need to come off again, plus they would also improve the looks too.

Here are the stainless bolts, which cost me £4.29 for three

And here's the original look (black) available at £1.79 for three

I'm thinking that as I am going to the effort of replacing the bolts, that it would be a shame to leave the exhaust all rusty. So, weather permitting I am going to give the manifold and exhaust a good clean and a fresh coat of VHT black paint.

If anyone is interested I could take some before, during and after shots.

Once rust sets in it's going to stay there, not much can be done about it. Thankfully I don't have that problem. I've seen people going for coats and paints but I don't think that is the real process of oxidation of the metal.

I am also looking for the exact size of the header bolt. I will post it here if I'll find the one that will fit in our bolt. :D
