I had planned a pleasant 100 km round trip through the bush today with photos, however the winds seemed to be blowing me all over the place which was dangerous near the trees on badly rutted, muddy, rocky tracks. I just couldn't keep good control or be sure of my way, slipping all over the place and even wondering if my wheel/tyres were out of line! After a few nasty km and a bad scare when I hit a 450mm deep ditch cut right across the road , put in for drainage they say but I reckon to stop vehicles, I decided to let some air out and then finally gave up and turned back. Got home, got on the 'net and checked the weather - the forecast 14 km winds were now shown locally as 50 kph with gusts well over 60 kph and climbing which explains a lot! Oh well, next weekend.
