#1 Swapping my Shineray GY7 200cc engine for a jiling 600cc06-09-2010, 11:14 PM
So I want to get a new jiling 600cc engine and put it in my 2009 gy7 any thoughts? Also can someone help me find out how much it should cost?

I think you can get the Loncin 223cc like the one in the Galaxy XTR to fit. As far as the JH600 goes, I don't think that's going to work for you. The frame of the GY7 would never be able to handle the weight and power.
Cheers!

I doubt that idea would work successfully. The GY7 frame even if it could accommodate the JH600 engine, is unlikely to be stiff enough to handle such a heavy engine, without some substantial modifications and extra bracing. I'd think it'd be far easier to just go and buy a complete JH600.

Yep, probably not gonna work. However since your bike would not be legal anymore after you do that, why limit yourself to the JH600 engine? Why not try to find a crashed japanese dirt bike with an engine that would actually fit in your frame?

Yeah, Felix thats a good point. "life" needs to consider that altering the bike in any way will negate the legality of the Shineray GY7. Even something as simple as changing the paint on a vehicle in China actually makes a once legal vehicle, illegal. I kid you not, I know several bikers who have had to repaint their bikes back to the original paint colour as they were first licensed.

I think it is would just be easyer if we pressure Shineray to sell us the 400 cc ( or it may have been a 250 now that I looked back at old threads)(I'm learning CC :) )they used in the 2008 Tink ralley. I'm sure they can sell us something...

Can change color"车身颜色变更", but wastes many time in 车管所

yes, that is the laws that affect Beijing... as those of us know who have lived here a long time, that China is made up of many towns/cities/county/provincial level governments where rules differ... what applies in one place may not apply in another. Even the rule might be a national one, doesn't mean the local officials know it...

Who cares the "standrd" process -- need the apprvoal 1st
The local's wisdom-- tell "white" lies: Dropped 行驶证/ Broken decal ... if they ask Qs & NEVER mention u wants change the color
Jiangmen's 车管所 usually don't ask Qs
