When I arrived in China, I never thought I would ride a motorcycle, much less on a race bike and on the same race track ridden by the world professionals at Moto GP. This was a track day to be remembered. The Shanghai International Circuit is a state of the art facility with all the bells and whistles; close circuit TV; full electronic control center; silky smooth payment; a loooooooong back straight to top out the bike way before the brake markers, capable of reaching speeds of 200+mph. This was like playing ball at Wrigley Field!

BG-Performance is just starting to organize track days in Shanghai. Motorsport recreation still in it's infancy in China. For a city of 20 Million people there only were 2 Australians; 1 Brit; 1 French; 2 US (me included); 2 Hong Kong; 2 Taiwain; 3 Chinese. BG provided EVERYTHING. I was on a 05 YAMAHA R6 race bike with Michelin Power One's and the two mechanics were on hand to make any adjustment I asked for. For a minute, I thought I had my own race team. I(#25) put on my best Valentino Rossi impression. However his lap times are in the 1:50's compared to my 2:40's.

BG is hosting it again on June 27th. I'll be there again; would love to meet some of you there. This THE place to satisfy your speed addiction, not only in China but for the rest of the world.
