Looks like Loncin stepped up to the bat with a set of their own 250's.

The Loncin PY250 (LX250PY in South Africa) could be a formidable model and the company has a decent reputation in China itself. We'd love to hear from anyone who has any experience with these in any part of the world! Specs quoted from site follow.

The LX250PY is China's latest offering as a truly high quality product, and this model has proved itself to be equal to its Japanese rivals in the same category.

It has an impressive list of features including:
Hi Torque 250 cc engine, air-cooled, 4 Stroke, efficient Japanese CV Carburetor, Electric Start, Heavy Duty Alloy Wheels and Suspension, Alloy Swing Arm, Silky Smooth 5 - Speed Manual Transmission, 890mm Seat Height, 18" & 21" Wheels, Ventilated Hydraulic Disc Brakes, Digital Speedo and Odometer, Head Light and Tail light.

Thanks to modern sports styling as well as excellent finishes, this model can easily be converted from a sedate trail bike to an aggressive trail blazer when the occasion arises. When it comes to good quality and value for money, Loncin has gone all out to make the LX250PY a worthy opponent for the likes of Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki & Yamaha.

Yeah looks like it. Doesn't have the same engine and not quite as nice as the Honda fitting but still pretty damn close!

    Hi CrazyCarl

I'm new to Mychinamoto and have just bought a Sunteck LRX 250 which appears to be identical to the bike in your thread. I haven't ridden it yet apart from a few laps of my backyard!

Are there any tips or tricks to keeping this model running well?

    Regards

    Karl

Yep looks to be the origins of my CCM C-XR230 too http://www.ccmmotorcyclesuk.com/cont...tegory/32/195/

Only had mine two weeks and have not ridden it much , mods so far , EGR valve removed and blocked off (no real reason but it looks untidy!) , gearing raised by replacing fron 15t sprocket with 16T XR200 item , rear shock replaced with Honda XL600V Transalp item using original CCM spring , tyres swapped for more off road capable ones , rear pegs removed , horn refitted to EGR location , spark plug replaced with NGK DR8EA , think that's it !

Well, at least they called yours a 230, bojer, which it is. Is it just me or is anyone else peeved that these 230cc bikes are being advertised as 250s?

I liked the CCM (which lasted for what seemed like about 2 days) which was based on the Shuopu Science 250; sold as the Pitster Pro in the US

    http://shop.pitsterpro.com/xtr250lcmotard.aspx

I know that the quality is decent, so not sure what happened to CCM's version. I know one of the UK members on chinariders.net sat on one at his local CCM dealership. It was called the X-TR250. And it was advertised as a 250cc based on Loncin's water-cooled 250cc (vs. their air-cooled 230cc often referred as a 250 as david3921 pointed out)

Husqvarna have been doing it for a while too ! - did the maths and it works out just over 229 cc.........

    This is mine : DSCF0070.jpgDSCF0068.jpg
Seems to be running very low gearbox ratios, 50mph seems very busy - only done 150miles on it so far though . Have gone to a 16T front sprocket but does not look to be room for anything bigger there and the rear sprocket is not too much bigger than the mounting lugs either so looks like it might be as high geared as it can get ?

Bojer, I'm only counting 14 teeth on the front sprocket in your picture . Have you changed to the 16T since the picture was taken? I see what you mean about the rear. There's not much room to go smaller. What size do have on the rear now?
