There is a new shop in Beijing, Motorway. It is located in the 798 art district at Da Shan Zi (大山子)
My old buddy Lv Fei, the guy who was awarded a trip to the US along with the rider exchange program in 2009, manages the place.
The have decent gear, a good selection of tires (I found TKC 80s there), luggage systems and loads of other stuff.
Their workshop will open later this summer.
    Check it out

Thanks for the tip Andy - perfect timing for me, as I'm in the market for some new riding gear and it looks like he has some really nice stuff!

    I'll pop up there soon.

Went to his shop over the weekend. He has some beautiful, top-end gear (and top-shelf prices ... but, you get what you pay for).

But the shop is REALLY hard to find ... make sure you go with someone who knows the 798 district and also speaks good Chinese (to keep calling them to ask for directions). I plugged the Lat/Long (from their website) into my GPS, but my China GPS maps did not display the little lane that they are on inside the 798 District.

However, once I found it ... I was quite impressed by the shop and the selection.

I second Lao Jia Hou's comments. My wife and I went over to 798 today to check out the galleries and I convinced her to check out Motorway also.

I think the GPS coordinates are a wee bit off (sorry, I didn't get better ones), I'd say the shop is about a block or two west and south of where my phone thought those coordinates should go. We got as close as we could to the coordinates and were still trying to go east. When we called the shop and told them where we were, they told us to go back west a bit and slightly south.

There were a bunch of BMW 1200GS parked in front and on our way out a Ducati showed up as well. Definitely a place to shop if you have money, they stock Rev'it! clothing and Shuberth helmets, at a lot of accessories for adventure bikes.

The shop looked very clean, with a ton of BMW 1200GS's waiting for service too.

Jeff Sun was our sales agent and he was pretty friendly, even though we were pretty clearly not going to buy anything on the spot. He saw our helmets and asked where our motorcycle was, so we had to explain they were just for our electric scooter. He gave me a copy of the Rev'it! catalog and I tried on some modular Shuberth helmets. Jeff also introduced me to Lu Fei and we chatted a bit as well, he was pretty friendly considering I wasn't about to bring a 1200GS in for service.
