#1 Ride Report: China, "The Middle Kingdom Ride"08-06-2010, 06:39 PM
Hello folks.
With just seven days to go until Colin and I start our 60 day - 20,000km - motorcycle journey around China, I just to write a brief update. Obviously there is still much to be done and we've appreciated many of the personal messages, and public support, we've recieved on this blog.
This space will be our "Ride Report" location. Each few days we'll be updating this space and hopefully we'll be able to count on a few riders here to offer some advice and support if needed.
We depart from my home in Shanghai on Saturday August 14th. You can follow our journey online at our dedicated website: www.mkride.com. Also, below is some more information about our journey and how to follow us.
**Charitable Partner** - The Middle Kingdom Ride is riding to raise funds for SEVA, a charitable foundation that has, for more than 30 years, served people around the world who are struggling for health, cultural survival and sustainable communities. Learn more about SEVA at www.seva.org, and make a donation today.
**Corporate Sponsors** - The Middle Kingdom Ride could not have happened without our wonderful corporate sponsors: BMW, Touratech, The Tomson Group, Airhawk, Pelican, Kodak, Oakley, Cardo Systems, Lowe Pro & Mandarin House.

One week to go, woohoo, don't forget to meditate and relax before you start! It is a spiritual journey too.
Best wishes and safe riding to you both. I shall follow you here and on facebook, I don't know how you will find time to ride with all the networking you will be doing!

08-19-2010, 01:41 AMBigD, Ryan texted me to say they've reached Dandong, and are peering acros the Yalu River into North Korea.
For a sensory treat, or perhaps a DEsensory treat, have a look at THIS GOOGLE MAP for Dandong. Seems google couldn't find a good cartographer in the DPRK...jkp
