    found the mixture screw in the end (what a awkward place to put it!). now changed plug,coil and cdi and its still misfiring,popping etc. anyone got any ideas? going to change generator and pickup next. i'll post back if it makes any difference.

    I've managed to sort mine now, give this a try. If your mixture screw is after the main body of the carb then screw it in until it just stops. Turn it too tight and you could damage it. Now turn it back out between half and two turns. If this improves it then you need to fine adjust it and your tickover to get the best result. I just wish I'd known this before spending over £100 on parts! Good luck.

    spark plug,coil,cdi,rectifier,generator and pickup now changed.
    the bike still struggles to pull. 3rd gear feels like 5th! the rev counter is bouncing all over the place which would normally indicate coil problems but as its brand new i don't think so. played with the mixture and nothing changed.
    anyone got any other ideas cos i'm stumped now!
