Fascinating thread, and that looks like a very good quality forum. Nice to have a glimpse of how India is dealing with the Chinese motorbiking behemoth. The guy who did this engine swap, Lavs, seems not to ever deal with the question posed to him about Chinese quality. But clearly he knows that quality can be had in China -- if you are prepared to keep a close eye on things!

Once again, MJH, your encyclopedic knowledge leaves me dazzled!

The Shineray 250 is a Honda NX250/AX1 based motor. One of the coolest 250 singles ever produced for the DS world IMHO.

Looking at that pic closer though... it does make me scratch my head. Okay figured it out cuz that didn't seem right.

The images you posted are not of the original Yamaha engine. An engine swap was performed in the pictures you originally posted.

Post #08 in the following thread will confirm the Honda NX250 origins.

That engine is manufactured as a 170MM by Yingang

LOL you found it, yeah he swapped it out and even had the factory replicate the original engine number.

I am looking for thinkers, I see that a South African investor has bought a local mall and that mall is the location of a PSI, it is located within it, a Power Sports Institute. The Mall is nearly abandoned and was at one time the largest mall in the USA.

The intentions are to convert that mall into a distribution centers, warehousing, logistics etc.

I am very active on the internet, I post often lengthy detailed content and within them are ideas related to business models and concepts call me the Johnny Appleseed of ideas.

This one is hot and could be a base for a large system supporting the importation of Chinese power sport products.

The key to it is the system and complete documentation, cross referencing tagging detailing stocking and linking it all online. That would require a lot of linkage as in joint venture planning, a system, the school is a magnet and can be linked to other programs and universities.

I like open source software and would like to see a process that allows easy transfers of products through the value chain. From manufacturer to end consumer, getting access to the lower cost products and creating new industry to support it.

Here is link to a related article:

Yeah my brain is a trip…

I build what I call logical links, I try to make things happen. What is that button for, lets just push it and see what happens? The internet is connected and ideas are like butterflies and now they can fly electronically.
