I'm a massive fan of Ducati hypermotards and Monsters, and on a track even a plasticky 848 race bike would be huge fun.

This V-rod/V-Max type machine I'm sure will appeal massively to the Chinese wealthy elite and be a source of envy for the less wealthy (judging by the flocks around Harley Fatboys and Honda Gold Wings at bike shows/meets).

    Ducati Diavel: 1198cc L- V-twin, ABS brakes 210KG (453lbs)

The understanding of what you're buying, is what money can't buy tough.

Ha ha saw this on Bikeexif this morning, my first thought also was "won't be long before we see one in front of the starbucks"

I have mixed feelings about the bike. On one hand, good for ducati for broadening their line and stepping out of their comfort zone. I love when manufacturers push the envelope, even if i'm not a fan of the bike. Therefore i'm not opposed to a Ducati cruiser.

On the other hand... really??? Come on ducati, you can surely do better than this fat monstrosity. What ever happened to this concept?

Though i think choppers are ridiculous, this concept had flair and balance.
The headlight on the Diavel just makes me want to

I think both the concept and the end product are pretty vomit inducing!

And the people who are attracted to these probably thing we are nuts riding on dirt and through bush on two wheels! It takes all sorts. At least these fancy bike fanciers won't breed, they will all leave their gonads (if they have them) on the tank at some point soon after purchase. That particular design has a gap at the seat front, so it is a chopper, a ball chopper, not a ball crusher or ball extractor like some others.

You brake, slide forward, wedding tackle slides under gap as front springs compress, then rebound and ....chop! No more gonads.

Being a Super-Rich myself I kind of like it
I love the big tank, seat unit, and the engine and frame I like a lot.
Its good to see Ducati introducing new models, i reckon the V-Rod has made H-D a bit of money
I would have to have a Hypermotard from ducati if i had the money.. and riding skills.
