03-24-2011, 01:23 AMGood thinking. You'll be a lot more confident with a couple hundred solo km under your belt before taking on a pillion. I'm well over 10k km and have allowed a pillion only once -- a comely lass in Guiyang who, truth be told, accompanied me to Guiyang station to fetch my bike after its long ride from Shanghai, and who helped me push it to the nearest petrol station!
From the Beijing forecast, it looks like it's going to be a spectacular weekend for riding. Simatai anyone? Please indulge us with pictures of your first rides!!jkp

Yup - should be good - but it is still very cold overnight, so it takes a while to get mobile in morning (yup, I'm a wuss ... and damn proud of it!)
Hopefully, Barry & I can pull ourselves away from our sweeties and do a nice intro ride somewhere not too far away. All welcome, of course!

03-24-2011, 03:47 AMI drive at 6:30 in the morning almost every day even when it was colder then now, lovely traffic then! I'll bring you some chou doufu, that might wake you up!
I'm afraid to wake up my gf at 10:00-12:00 on weekends, all I get out of her is a very grumpy "mmmmmmmmmmmmmm"!

03-24-2011, 08:45 AMThanks for the refresher, Aggie. Nice looking steed!
Barry, see what I mean about the fork bellows?
I love chou doufu, but wouldn't get out of bed before dawn for it. Looking forward to reading of your first adventure, hopefully with a wakeful and fragrant Lao Jia Huo.
cheersjkp

0630 AM? Hahahahahahaha! Sure, you know where I live ... while you're waiting, you'll notice that my bike needs washing ... I'll leave the washing tools out the night before.
chou doufu? Is that even sold in Beijing? I thought only Shanghainese ate that vile stuff. I'm definitely wearing a full face helmet ... maybe two.
Ride report? Well, I hope Barry has better photo skills than mine - my pics look like pathetic little stick men drawings ... and blurry. I have no idea how you guys manage to do it.
Aggie's and Barry's bikes are nice in blue, for sure! The blue paint is amazingly shiny.
So, Aggie & I have the "tiger" version (with spots, wearing leggins on their front legs)? What is the striped version called? Leopard?
