I'm looking for a product that doesn't give me any information about where I am and only tracks my movements. I was told about one that would even geo-position your pictures through the exif time stamp data. The only thing is I forgot the name of the product and I don't know anyone that uses one.

Oh well why didn't you say so!

There's one out now called the ATP Photofinder which does exactly what you're talking about.

You synchronize your camera to the photofinder and make sure its on and tracking while to take pictures. You can then slip your memory card into the unit and it will automatically tag your photo's locations.

Problem is it doesn't seem to accept CF cards and won't keep tracks. The upshot is it's only about 100USD so it's not too expensive and is much more convenient than choosing each place manually in Google Earth.

Here's a link to how it works:

Here's another one for just under 100bucks that does the photo tagging and tracking.

These little devices seem like great time savers if you plan on doing a lot of geo-tagging. Hmm...speaking of geo-tagging...

    Howdy Supersignet,

I have two of the devices you speak of.

    #1 Qstarz BT-Q1000P
    #2 Holux M-241

I'm still testing them both, but they both offer GPS tracking, Bluetooth interface for PDA or computer and Photo Geo-tagging software. So far I think the QStarz is a little better than the Holux because it has better battery life and can hold more tracks.

I'm fairly sure they use the same GPS chipset and they are very accurate compared to my old Garmin Forerunner 301.

    Cheers!
