Ever write up a post only to have your browser crap out on you after you've just about finished?

Right, so let's try to write this again.

I've been a long time lurker on MCM and I figured it was about time I bucked up and posted something.

I am now the owner of ChinaV's QingQi 250!

It happened something like this -
After 2 years riding myriad Chinese makes in Yangshuo, Guangxi, I moved to Shenzhen. Though Shenzhen has its many positives, most of us here know that it is - just like an increasing number of Chinese coastal cities - a desolate motorcycle wasteland. After some finagling and asking around, some mates and I have been able to get a secure place just outside the city to store our motorcycles.

Now I have a new (read: almost new) 2010 YBR G sitting in Yangshuo going to waste. My plan was to ride it over to Shenzhen and go on whirlwind adventures with my friends. The problem is all my friends are jerks and decided to upgrade to 250's just after I dropped a load of cash on my YBR. I really don't need to be buying a second motorcycle in China, but I REALLY don't need to be playing catch up at every junction on weekend motorcycle trips either.

Then one of my friends and fellow MCM lurker got in touch with ChinaV inquiring about any bikes that might be for sale. One thing led to another, and we arrived at ChinaV's home to look at an XTR and the QingQi 250.

ChinaV is an awesome host. We got picked up from the bus station, drove on the right side of the road (once) to his place. We were then able to jump right on the bikes and go out for a ride. The QingQi is a smooth little guy that inspires confidence in the corners. A little bit of carb work to fatten up the top end, maybe upgrade the rear brakes, add a headlight, and rig up SOME kind of trip meter, and it'll be ready for some real abuse.

    Stopping to take some pictures-

Some of us are better suited for photographs than others-

Then after being treated amazingly again with a great dinner and some more rides the next day, we had to head back to Shenzhen. ChinaV was a little emotional when saying goodbye to the QingQi, and I've now got to give it a good washing before I'm going to feel comfortable riding it again.

Now that I've got some wheels under me again, I'll be doing plenty of riding. I should also be posting plenty of reports and info on how the little QingQi is holding up.

Want to say thanks again to ChinaV for seriously being such a great host!

As a side note, the YBR will be listed in the classified section in the days to come with more information and poor quality pictures to get you excited.

    Come on kids, play nice!

Congrats to you both on the new bikes. Make sure you treat them well and love them deservingly of a ChinaV-prepared bike.

ChinaV, was it hard watching half of your manhood roll off?

Though esthetically pleasing, barnone, I think I'd prefer something a little less "have to do it myself" :)

Was thinking of adding a little dirt bike unit, but I'd like to have a tach as well... Any ideas anyone??

I apologise in advance to anyone of a gentle nature, but i am going to ride the snot out of the XTR!
Lets see how much abuse that little bike can take. You can look forward to a supermoto report and a
full on assault of a motocross track, when i find one..
I wonder if my local kart track will let me go play?? hhmmm
