I have no idea where to post this, but it sure got me thinking and scratching my head.IMG_0389 (Custom).JPG
I saw this conversion at the bike market in Guangzhou and though the mechanically minded would like a look.
The main sub frame is linked to the frame with the two long bars, when you turn the bars the forks turn a linkage at the bottom which move the track rods and turn the stub axles!!
The girl in the shop said the owner had designed and made it..
    pretty cool little quad.

So the rider leans to turn it? I'd really like to see a video of this in action.

Hello Felix.. and fellow xtr250 rider

I only too the one pic of this quad, the back end was grafted on to the swingarm as well i think??

The main cradle that carries the wheels is fixed, it doesn't lean. The forks were pretty solid as well so i think he had stiffened the springs and damping right up. The forks just act as a steering column rotating on the steering bearings and a bearing mounted on the main cradle.. still with me?
When you turn the handlebars, it just pull's and pushes the trackrods that turn the wheels, the two red coilover dampers handle the bumps..
I'm going back there soon to buy some more gear so will take a couple more shots

Thanks richard, that kinda clears it up in my head. Interesting machine, but i wonder if that bike is not too tall for something that doesn't lean into corners. Either way must be a lot of fun to tear around on!

Post more pics for sure if it's easy for you to take more, but don't go out of way for them!

    Cheers,

    Felix

I think this thing would outright suck to ride!

Pretty darn cool though to see the original engineering involved. Here's the pic I got, not quite as clear, but brighter... Time to upgrade the blackberry and get an HTC methinks...

It could be my bad eyesight, but is this quad not missing its rear right wheel? Seems just open space where the wheel should be. Am I missing something?

    cheers
