Fellow bikers.

The year 2010 is coming to a close and we already are looking forward to the next season. We, is us, up North in Beijing, as temperatures are dropping way below freezing.

However, it is the creative time of the biker year in the Chinese capital, when people start to think of riding opportunities once the winter has gone. So did we.

The result of our thinking is to hold a biker meeting, gathering, festival, or whatever one may wish to call it around Chongli, Zhangjiakou, Hebei.

We are Sabine, Thomas and Andy and we'd like to present the following plan, convinced it will come true.

The Dragon boat festival in June 2011 appears to be a perfect date for the event. Temperatures are high enough, but it is not yet as hot as it can get up here.
The location we are planning to hold the event is a ski resort in winter, and hopefully, a perfect place for our untertaking in the early days of summer. The ski resort does agree to hold our biker stuff on their properties and in addition we can use the place to camp, for our camp fire and we can use a part of their facilities, such as toilets and kitchen. For the ones who don't like to camp, a variation of hotels in different categories are available nearby.

General plan of the event:

The day prior to the three day public holiday period:
Organizers and hardcore bikers make their way from Beijing to Chongli. Volunteers will be within this group to reach the location of the service points for the following day.

The first day will see the ride from Beijing to the event ground. It is a 280km ride through the countryside, scenic and easy going for everyone on whatever bike. We'll have different groups riding out there, and depending on the bike, the route is chosen. The first day of the event will end with a nice dinner, live music and a camp fire.

Day two will provide the opportunity to ride in an area with many relics of the great wall and some great roads - dirt as well as black top. Big Barbeque Night with live band performance will round up the day.

On day three, and after a open air buffet breakfast, groups will slowly start to head home - or not.

We would like to mention that the area is perfect for hiking, horse back riding or just relaxing and we would like to encourage also family members or non bikers to join the parties.

Moreover, there are many opportunities to combine this event with a ride from home to it or from it to whereever.

We are keen to make this event a successful one but we also know that we are not able to put this together by ourselves only. That is why we are looking for
- girls and boys who want to help to organize the event
- sheilas and blokes voluteering during the event
- sponsors

In a first attempt to introduce the project, we are plan an information evening at Frank's Place Beijing. Out of town interested folks please contact us as well.
