#1 Gas restrictions for Beijing motorbikes12-25-2010, 05:22 AM
Hello everyone
Not sure it is the right place to post about regulations, but here I go
I am facing difficulties to get gas in Beijing for a couple weeks, apparently there is a regulation about motorcycles getting gas in the city's gas stations. I didn't have the chance to read it in detail, although it is displayed in every gas station. I asked for a copy to be able to read it quietly at home or at work with the help of a Chinese native, but without success. As always, it isn't consistently enforced but it looks they are serious about it (even if so far after 2 minutes arguing, most places end up giving me gas to get rid of me).
So, some places will give me gas without a single question, in some places they say no gas to any motorcycle and some places they say I need the paper (车本, the blue book), which I have for my 京A Suzuki but not for the crappy R9 I use for short daily journeys....
Does anyone know something about it? It seems crazy that they would allow some bikes in the city but forbid them access to gas???
Look fwd to read your feedback
