No connection, that I’m aware of, just thought it was interesting. The design is by Xenophya and they can be contracted by any manufacturer as a design house , their gallery shows they’ve designed quite a few motorcycles for quite a few different manufacturers.
It represents to me the same concept the Chinese manufacturers use, that being designing a motorcycle around an existing engine design. That engine is the single from the Buell Blast. Harley Davidson established a business relationship with Zongshen in 2009. That engine could be manufactured in China theoretically. Harley stopped production of the Buell line in 2010. Harley still has an obligation to offer parts for that line, they have contracted Zongshen as a part supplier.
If manufactured by Zongshen in China that bike could be marketed and sold through Harley Davidson globally and for a very affordable price. Then again the engine could be manufactured in the USA and all the rest manufactured anywhere, in this case it appears to be manufactured in the UK, but nobody has come right out and said that it is. The engine is not bad a low maintenance pushrod single with hydraulic valves 492cc and 34hp. Considering the Buell sold for under $5,000.00 in 2009 seems a Chinese version would retail for less then that. A $4,000.00 MSRP is not impossible, just not likely to happen.
Bet they ask allot for that bike if made in the UK and it may someday be considered a collectable classic?
