There are a couple places around ehre..I am going to look at them this weekend to see the correct size I need but I think I am going to use these from this place..

The measurements for me to install on the bike seem to be the best so far. although I was looking at these as well..

. I also found this cool link...

11-03-2011, 02:22 AMEarlier in the thread I read removing spring to break it loose in a vise, but I still can't get my head around it yet. My spring is already closed up tight without me sitting. To 'pre-load' do you open the spring ?
Last night looked for "overload springs" and only found extra springs put on the outer rear seat frame, is that what you mean?
185Lbs & seat nearly all the way down upon seating.

BellaCourse has a photo of his bike with what we call overload springs back a few posts. (7" springs)
If you are only 185lbs and bottoming the seat then you do need to adjust the spring preload. You should not need the overload springs at 185 lbs. I'm 210 and am fine with the max preload.
I had to take my seat spring off the bike and put it in a vise to break the threaded rod loose. There is a lock nut that needs to be loosened first.
To adjust the preload you want to shorten the threaded rod as much as possible. The spring will still be compressed and it doesn't get expanded until you sit on the bike.Vince

11-03-2011, 04:59 AMi adjusted the preload on my seat this morning, took a nice ride, and wow, sooo much more comfortable, closer to the handlebars now, and not so streched out when i ride. it doesn't even feel like i need overload springs anymore, but i might look into getting some anyway just to be safe.

11-05-2011, 01:35 AMLock released without removal, but adjustment was just a few treads. No change noted.
Any one else eating up your state license with the rear wheel? I shaved a curve to avoid further damage.
Installed new lithium battery today & cut center opening for 5 plug charger (for winter storage).
Having a seat made with extra padding (vintage Harley solo bucket tuffed brown) expected next week. Photos after I install ( hope to correct crooked seat when I do).
