Wow perfect if anyone remembers the page the graph was on it would be appreciated, Gun Rod when doing 80 what gear are you in and what rpms if you remember, and yea I live in miami and orlando so pretty much everything is flat. All I am looking for is to be able to do something like 60-70 mph in 4th under or around 4000 rpm if that is possible, without having to rev to like 3000rpm just to get the bike moving

That's an older picture. I moved the ignition switch months ago.

    With 33T rear :
5th gear at full trottle, no wind resistance , rpm unknown (6000 ? ) to reach 80 mph indicated (not recommended for any length of time, I was curious to find top speed). 4th gear good to 55mph. Comfortable cruise 60-65 (5th). Start up needs 2000 rpm. 3rd gear great around town low rpm & great sound.

    Gun Rod,
Did you verify your speed (80MPH) with a GPS? The last I checked my speedometer on the DF with my GPS it was way optimistic. Like 10MPH at 70MPH indicated if I remember right.

GPS no, I keep saying "indicated", its all I've got til my wife tracts my speed next to me. ( Second Test)40 mph head wind dropped best to 68, turn around with the wind exceeded 88 mph. But I know that's false due to the conditions. Three tests (third 80+, but indicated (speedo) only!

Speedo readings (for me with all vehicles) from the mfg with original tires have been vary close to true speed. My triumph picked up the analog readings from the rear tire rotations. How does the DF pick up speed readings? By changing my rear sprocket did I affect its accuracy?

The DF has an electronic speedometer with the pickup off the front wheel so changing the rear sprocket has no effect. I know the speedometer is very optimistic. I'll run a check if I can find my GPS.

I thought the DF used a cable driven speedo and driven from the front hub.Maybe there's a difference between model years or maybe I just mistaken.

go take a look theres a 2 wire connector from the front hub pickup and the speedo , not a cable but without examination could be mistaken as 1
