reporon,
My valves make a little noise on all my bikes when warmed up which is correct on an non hydraulic valve lifter engine.
Don't run your valves set at zero clearance because you will cause engine problems like burned valves. The owner's manual has the clearances.
Are you sure that the loud noise you hear is the valve rocker arms? The catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe on my DF make a rattle.

12-22-2011, 06:50 PMi ordered the seat off ebay for $119, it didn't come with the springs. i got the springs from motorcycle superstore http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...T.ac=SLIsearch , these are the 5 inch springs. i also got the front seat bracket off ebay and had to fabricate the rear seat bracket out of some flatbar i got from home depot. i ordered 2 different brackets for the rear but couldn't make either one work so i had no choice but to build one.

12-23-2011, 07:59 PMi think i was a little too ambitious with the 5 inch springs, just a little too much left to right sway, feels a kind of unstable. i think i'm going to try 3 inch springs and see if that makes it better. also, i don't think i'm getting an accurate reading from my GPS. when i switch to second gear at 10mph the GPS says i'm doing 12mph, i glance down while i'm doing 45 and the GPS says 40, i increase speed up to 50 and the GPS still says 40, then at 60 the GPS says 49 and i'm on a 55mph road leaving the car behind me and quickly catching up to the car in front of me. i think i'm just not going to use the GPS and just keep up with the flow of traffic, and if there's no traffic then i'll just do 5mph over the speed limit.
