    Thanks,

I think it was just the tip that popped off..but I have no way of making sure cause in motion the tip and what may have been left of it was lost on the road. The end of the cable was a little frayed, and untwisted. Maybe the term "snapped" wasn't the correct word to use,but in the heat of the event,it seemed to be the best choice.

Back in my old days with British bikes and Harleys, it was not unusual to have the end pop off the clutch and brake cables. These were required in your tool/spares kit.

On that second link with the JB weld repair. You can do the same thing using copper tubing for an ice maker and solder.I've seen it done with lead, silver, and tin solders.

Looking at Headlamp assembly change, can I jump from our 12V/35W/35W to a 12V/60W/55W without changing wires & related system behind?

Had to have my bro-in-law pick me up with the trailer.Gonna call the scooterdepot today If they are open and get a replacement sent...but I am also gonna look for another cable to use instead as i feel that this is an unacceptable defect. I only have 800 plus miles on it..and there truly is not a reason why the cable should just snap at the tip like that. Freaky moment for sure. Very disapponting as well ,as the weather these past two days were ment for riding..since we have had mostly gloomy weather all weekend, an now i cannot ride. I suggest you check you cables on a regualr basis and maybe even look into replacing them to be safe.
wow, scary stuff man. at least you had the right mind to do what you did some people would panic and not know what to do.

Two different bulb bases. As always, the wire size is marginal. This is the proper way to convert the wires to handle any larger Watt bulb.

    gun rod,
have you looked into LED headlights which give higher light output without requiring more watts?

Thank you both, I ruled out H-4 (halogen) lamped assemblys due to an obvious overloading wires (80/90W) without relays (see Mailman's link). LED are interesting but no traditional designs seen & out of budget. Dennis KIrk offers a black 7" traditional assembly that has a park light with high/low normal 55/60 bulb. Installation appears simuliar to ours.
    Ordered today. Will advise.

Barnone, how is the tank going?

Nothing done on the tank so far. I will have to cut off the existing tank mounting tabs so I haven't rushed into it.

One of the gas cap openings is a dummy.

Suppose to be 3 plus gallons.

Under side of the tank. Manufacturer recommends using Kreem to coat the inside of the tank.
