When I was considering an economical way to get back and forth to work I found the scooter store because at the time I thought a scooter might be the way to go. Paging through their offerings I saw the DF 250 RTB and thought this will be just what I need and won't look like such a dork in the process. I looked up the reviews of the scooter store on the net and decided I'd look else where which turned in to a good deal for me as I got the bike 600.00 cheaper than the scooter store. Granted I have no support but so far I haven't ran into anything I couldn't deal with, with the resources of the internet.
My work is five miles out. The way has a few steep hills and is posted 35 mph at the highest, the same as the whole city. I leave for work at 4:30am. I doubt if I will need speed in excess of 50 mph so the stock gearing suits me fine. I like the power and revs I feel at 35 going up a hill in 4th. The sound of the bike after removing the air pump and adding the new air filter is more in line with my needs also. It has quieted the bike down a lot which I am sure makes my neighbors and the people on my route a lot happier. I prefer the low growl to the .22 machine gun. As far as the difference in the amount of power I have noticed because of the mods I have done is none. That may be because I haven't changed the stock sprockets.
Basically everyone has their own idea of what they want out of this bike. For what it is it has a lot of potential to become a lot of peoples go to machine which is good for all of us for all the unique ideas generated here.

06-03-2013, 08:08 PMWell boys & girls, long time no post. That's because my DF has been sitting idle since last August. I'm breaking it out for this weekend's Gilmore Museum vintage bike show and I'm finally getting it plated so I can -legally- ride on the street. There is a vibrant old school scooter presence here in SE MI, and when I pull up on my caffed DF, people just go gaga. I'm going to do more of that this summer.

06-04-2013, 04:11 AMWell, then I like them much better upside down. I'm a fan of drag bars, or a flatter type of bar like those used on my old 2006 XL883 Sportster.

so did someone goof up on the assembly line again with the bars? could be. 10,000* bikes later,"hey those are on wong"., wong answered "yes" not knowing the boss meant 'wrong'.
*(or how ever many they made. i am sure someone is looking that up right now )Last edited by chruk bashre; 06-27-2013 at 04:41 PM.
