I have a question and no one has been able to answer it.. I have checked the bike and unable to locate the source:
    The Problem:
I get a slight oil leak when my DF250RTB on the kickstand, it's a very slow leak. I put a newspaper below the leak.. But if I don't ride for a while the all the slow leak
    dripping shows..

Where could the leak come from " could it be the gear seal or chain drive gears... any ideas..

    Thanks..

I hope this not in the wrong area..
You could use an oil dye based on blacklight tech and cheap ebay blacklight $7. But you will need to drain your oil after that me thinks. But honestly you should just be able to degreas your motor and then eyeball it and see where it's coming from. I would say check your drain plug first.

Thought I had a leak on my Ranger and they did that test to find that there was no leak.

I did clean the whole area underneath nicely with alcohol completely dry and sprayed it talcum powder, tightened all the bolts, double checked the drain nut.. STILL could not detect the leak "very annoying" .. I'll put some photo shots tomorrow..

Scroll down to 200cc CG Vertical Motor Oil seal set.
    CG200 is like our CG250 aka 167FMM.

    Thanks

PS: here are the pictures.. I'll put some more when there is more oil on the paper...

    vips,
Were did you get your DF250RTB?
How tight is your chain? You ever loosen it or oil it? Looks dry as a bone.

If your chain is tight as it come in the crate then that could have damaged that seal.

Take the cover off the front sprocket area and see if you see where the oil is leaking. If the leak appears to be in the sprocket area then remove the sprocket to verify the leak.

The parts I referred to are for a CG200 and the engine in the DF250RTB is a CG250 which is the same engine but with a bigger bore.

I am not going to guarantee the parts will fit but the price shipped is only $10.00 USD.

Bought it from http://www.scooterdepot.us/ last year.

We just assembled it and changed the engine oil, connected the battery and started the engine. it only has about less than 100 miles.
The fuel tank was leaking, they sent us a new one. Did not mess with the chain at all.
Yeah another thing had happened was the gear link rod broke and I got a new machine made locally at the machine shop and works fine, later I found
one on line and bought that too and kept it as spare.

I'll mess with it tomorrow and see what's going on after I open the cover.

    Thanks for helping me out...

Loosen up that chain. That is probably what caused the seal to leak. Hope it didn't hurt anything else. One of the seals in that set will probably fix it if that is the leak.

Gonna order the B version with the springer front end next week. Does anyone who has this new version know if it still has the 45T rear sprocket? Looked at Scooter Depot, but I won't do business with a vender whos adds a $100 surcharge and calls it a "warranty."
