    Not stuck accelerator pump.
Make sure you have the slide in the carb the correct way

Thank you and I will check that next. I think i did put the slide in incorrectly when reassembling it. I'll let you know how it works out.

I was curious barnone, since we have the same year of the df250rtb what is your top speed you can achieve after changing your sprocket and was that the only mod that you performed? I have read on here of people achieving 75 mph on this model, and I would like to mod mine to do somewhat the same, atleast to be comfortable on the highway

Internet speed claims cannot be trusted IMHO.

Don't know about anyone running 75 MPH on the 2012 DR250RTB on a level run, very doubtful that can be achieved without an engine swap to a bigger displacement motor or maybe very extensive mods to the existing engine like a turbo charger. This Honda close engine started out as a CG125 cc engine.

Just not a lot of HP out of the 229 cc push rod engines.

My DF is in the mountains of Western North Carolina and I am in Southwest Florida for another months so I haven't ridden her for six months but I seem to remember that I got her up to 55 plus a bit MPH GPS with just the rear sprocket change to a 35 tooth. The carb comes pretty well jetted on the 2012 DFs. A reasonable cruise speed would be 50 MPH.

Thank you very much for the tip. Everything running perfectly . The slide was not lined up with pin correctly. My throttle felt weird and funky. Now the throttle feels normal when I twist it. She purs like brand new now.
    Thank you very much again!

DantheMan claimed it, Gardo claimed it, and even made bogus videos of exceeding it.
But put it that rumor to bed as it will not happen.

if u did have a heist, i also confirmed there is a big bore top end they sell for like a zillion dollars...
but as ive found on rebuilding my ls650, more power comes from the increased compression of the domed piston, then maximizing the bore from 94 to 97mm.

So Ive decked my cylinder head on this DF 167fmm from 9.0 to 10.0. Before which, the best speed i could achieve was around 60mph indicated on the 10% overzealous OEM speedo, so that was perhaps 55mph real at best.
After the deck i gained a mild yet noticeable amount of power, likely can cruise on a flat at 60 true and hold it.

I was ready to ditch the engine and this bike altogether. but the power gain got me to the point that on a long mild incline, where i might before lose momentum down to say 45mph.... brutal as the cars piled up behind me id often pullover to let them by....
but now i can maintain my speed at the state limit of 55 through out. world of difference

I bought a 30 tooth as i believe I may now have the torque to make it workable. its the smallest available i believe

    $419.95
    Bore 69.5mm - Stroke 65mm = approximate 247 cc

    Stock is 67mm x 65 = approx. 229 cc

gain in displacement is about 18 cc
Maybe there is an increase in compression ratio.

Swap in a 250cc 2 stroke and go easy on the oil mix to cut down on smoke. That should hold 60 on the highway. Can't do it in a state or country with inspection laws.

i can attest as soon as you start considering motor swaps, you start considering bike swaps.
Not that it cant be done, and not that it hasn't been talked about to exhaustion, but fact is more have ditched this bike, then ive ever seen ditch the motor...

    A. information on guaranteeing one of the other cg or cb engine clones are a bolt in replacement is scarce. You will need your motor in hand and measure.
    B. then you also need to acquire the pipe, carb, so on and so-forth. Which is not usually not worth the price on a $2k bike.

Then as i mention, you start realizing if your willing to do the mods for motor swap above, its not a far to stretch to mod a lightly used Japanese cruisers which can be had at similar prices.
Been down all of these paths.

Truth be told if looking to just maintain speed, turns out for me at least, decking the head was the least amount of time, work, money.
Got a video of it here. 5 minutes of my life.
Sounds strange now that i think about it, a simple head deck...
