I stopped by the Beijing HD dealer and was given the prices for the complete 2011 lineup available in China. Not all Harley models are available in China.

    Sportsters:
    883 - 96,500 rmb
    883R - 106,500 rmb
    883N - 120,000 rmb

    VRSCDX - 298,000 rmb

    Dyna:
    FXDC - 185,000 rmb
    FXDB - 190,000 rmb
    FXDF - 222,000 rmb

    Softail:
    FLSTC - 298,000 rmb
    FLSTF - 280,000 rmb
    FLSTFB - 290,500 rmb

    Touring:
    FLHTCU - 358,000 rmb
    FLHX - 310,000 rmb
    FLHRC - 300,000 rmb
    FLHR - 290,000 rmb

Out the door, it is an additional 11.7%

Beijing "A" plate through the Harley dealer is 18,400

There were about 20 bikes sitting on the showroom floor - all were already sold.

Basically the same prices as 2010. I was interested in the 1200 sporty until they dropped it from the line up. Seems the neuve rich Chinese either want the 883 or spring for the big hogs... I can only guess that there was little to no interest in the 1200 and HD decided that getting the CCC wasn't worth the effort, hassle or expense... I bought my Dragstar instead, which looks so deceptively Harley that more locals crowd my bike more than my foreign mates fair dinkum hog whenever we stop. That being said though, he has the little sportster, with its narrow tank and low range, plus he sits on it in kind of a neutral position which doesn't look all that great. Now if my Dragstar is beside some of the bigger Hogs e.g. fatboys and so on, then my Dragstar blends in and doesn't stand out so much.

I agree completely - I had a 1200 Sportster in the early 90s and it was a damn fine bike. It would be perfect for the mountain twisties around Beijing - much more agile than the big hogs. I have no idea why it isn't offered.

I also think the Dragstar is another fine bike - it has all the panache of a Harley, without the price (buying / servicing).
