From 02.05 - 13.05, i organise a ride from Lhasa to Mt. Everest Base Camp and back to Lhasa. I have already several Chang Jiang 750 in Lhasa for this Trip.
The Riders who are interested in schould let me know a.s.a.p that i can arrange the Permits for foreign Riders, as well a temporary chinese driving license for those who have only a national motorbike license.

    Dear Yangtsepete,

You got my attention! How would Shanghai bikes get to Lhasa? Any chance to ride into T*bet from Qinghai?

    thanks!

i shipped them by Train. Now they are in a Barn near the Potala Temple.

You can ride from Qinghai into Tibet via Golmud which we have done in 2009 as you can see some pics in my Album. For sure you usually should have a guide and permits.

Excellent news, is this a once off or do you intend to repeat in future (like when I am there, hopefully in August lol)
Will you have any lighter weight bikes? Any solos or just those four side-car CJ750's?
Would you consider 'self-propelled' riders joining your group on their own machines?

Please PM me costs, rates etc. including license facility

    thanks

I have done several trips last year with the Changs up to base camp and plan to continue this year. Lighter Bikes i have a Solo Chang to use in Tibet. If you want to join with your own Bike is aloso possible but the group need to stay somehow together.

I organise this with a local agency including the permits, -the must have guide, accomodation, etc.

Usually we all fly to Lhasa from Shanghai so the cost including flights are above 20.000 RMB for two weeks. License i provide in the package.

    Yangtsepete,
So you are saying that the two week trip is about $3100 USD and that includes bike, accomodations, guide, etc?

Do you you have a website with more information?

    Yantsepete,
Talked to my wife and she said that she didn't want to go since she had terrible altitude sickness at Cusco (12,000feet) but I am good to go.

Is a non side car bike available? What documents do I need other than a passport and a USA Florida drivers license with motorcycle endorsement?

Barnone! Now that's what a call an excellent wife!

I'm thinking you could pack the Pitster Pro in your carry-on and lash it to the stern of one of those Wehrmacht buggies. Give a shout if your itinerary includes Shanghai.

    cheers
