Those are super cool pics, thanks for sharing!
But they also make me so sad, seeing the snow on the ground in Beijing ... waiting for the weather to warm up ... I need to get out and ride! Cabin-fever = depression.
So, this also happens down south ...
I've seen similar incidents countless times, where these big trucks fall off concrete roads into the side ditch, but I have never figured out how the heck this happens. My guess is it happens at night, in the dark, while the driver is sms-ing on his mobile, or nodding off, or whatever. And we happen by in the daytime, hours after the event, while everyone is still standing around waiting for a crane.
I find it very strange how common this is with these big trucks.
Anyways, again, great pics! Thanks.

I'd say that truckie saw the bloody great boulder fell off the hill and didn't have a lot of choice?
Thanks for the pages of pics, we've been hanging out for a good fix of multi-page China pics like this! Some very good images in amongst them, too many to comment on - apart from one of the first ones made me laugh, with the rider leaning as he rode the curve in a side-car combo! Reminded me of how much I had to learn with one of those things. Feels so wrong at first not leaning.
And that rack looked like a cheese curing/drying rack to me .... ?Kinlon R/T KBR JL200GY-2

02-13-2011, 03:21 PMIt happens, my guess, he wanted to overtake in the curve you see ahead, but another "vehicle" came upfront after the curve, to avoid collission he steered left - too far left...and ended in the ditch.
My feeling tells me it was a fresh incident, at least 20 other trucks standing nearby, not a "last night" thing.
@jape
The bolder he put there by himself - typical in China, just to avoid that other cars come to close to him. Truck/Buis/Car drivers put all kind of stuffs on the road to protect their vehicles from further damage...and leave it on the road once thier thing is up and running again. You will see it sooner or later

It's more Chinese style to throw the rock on the road as kind of a stone age pylon to warn on coming traffic and keep them from hitting their thruck. Another common one is a big ass tree branch or many big ass tree branches thrown into the middle of the road. Once the truck is out the rock or tree branch is left behind for the next diver to hit.

That's the same hazard warning system they use in Central America.
