Yes. It was a good day! Well worth every drop of petrol and the main reason I'm looking to ride to Shanghai (don't worry, I will be careful).

About location: how about something centrally located like the Big Bamboo pub behind the Shanghai Centre? I've been there once before and the upstairs area can be cozy for a group of friends. The finger food is not bad either. But stay away from the dart board if there is heavy drinking involved :-)))

Due to a very wet looking weather forecast I've decided to delay my trip to Shanghai, therefore I won't be able to make it by the 27th.
I don't want to say that I'm cancelling my trip just yet. The forecast has changed 3 times today and I'm going to review it again tomorrow. If worst comes to worst and the rain doesn't let up then I just won't be able to see Fred off but I'll be riding to Shanghai one way or another. If a miracle happens and the weather turns out to be great in a few days time then I'll be there before Saturday and I can say "Au revoir" to Fred and Celine in person; otherwise I'll just have to hunt him down in the UK by following the tire tracks of his Triumph Scrambler.

...Only some of the stops along the way seem to have one day of the week where the weather is due to be clear and it's a different day of the week in each place.
I'll check the weather again tonight.
If anyone else has a reliable weather forecast source then please post it here or even make a new thread! I'm using Stardock and Google weather (Google being 25% accurate while Stardock is usually 85% accurate).
