so i passed my practical exam on friday. :) can't say it was too big of challenge. 3 people in my test group failed: all girls. one of them did a huge wheelie over the small bump at the beginning of the course and landed on her back with the bike continuing to rocket forward. she immediately stood up (at that point i couldnt stop myself from chuckling a bit) and got back on the bike to continue her test. after she came back she asked if she passed, and the instructor wouldn't even acknowledge her question. fyi, this is a girl that rolled up to the test in a brand new bmw z4.....

always, license will be ready next friday. more than ready to start riding.

    Congratulations.

It's obvious the BMW won't look new for too long, how can someone be so stupid to drive fast over that bump! Especially since you have turn left, right after the bump.

It seems so easy to you to pass the practical exam, hope I can,but I really worry about it,cause I never touched moto before.

    Happy riding friend,have fun.

Bloody hell, GJN, that was a TIC moment non-pareil! You were supposed to have your camera ready to share this with us!

Congrats, though, on passing! Now you can ride with impunity! Is there a new bike in the works?

    cheers

Sigh, i too regret not having a camera at the ready. Would have made for a classic picture. As for new bike - maybe. I want to wait awhile for this C3 emissions standard to finalize the legal bike scene before I begin my window shopping :) I am notoriously weak-willed when it comes to looking at shiny things on 2 wheels that go vroom, and don't trust myself enough to not make an impulse buy, haha.

At long last I am now a licensed Chinese driver. Been riding legally now for over a week, and haven't had the time to log on and announce the glorious news due to being too busy riding my bike. Anybody want to go for a ride? haha.

Congratulations, GJN. Just in time for the long Beijing summer! You can start working your way through the dozens of legacy rides recorded by chinabiker! Any of those rides he posted in his final week in China would be awesome on the QQ125!

Would love to join you, and will do my best to work in a trip to Beijing this summer.

    cheers

    Congrats GJN! that sounds great!

Good to hear that people successfully went through the whole process!

How did you register your bike? on your name? what kind of visa are you on?

I got maybe a 10th of the road to legalty behind me: did my exit/entry run, applied for new visa (shoud be ready next monday) and will drive to laoshan probably next WE. Hope to drive legally on my own bike by mid/end July. Euphonius, maybe you can wait with your visit till then?
