03-14-2011, 05:17 PMI currently own two XF200 bikes and ride one and my son rides one. Mine is the maintained and modified one and my son tries to destroy his each and every day. At 17 years old he only knows two speeds Idle and wide open which I hope the later doesnt get him in hot water with police. Any maintinance for his bike comes from me or doesnt get done.
I have done a few mods to my bike.
1.Replacing the Star Track edition mirrors with bar end mirrors that actually show what is behind me.
2. Drilling a few holes in air box to let it breath a little more air and seems to help.
3. Changed front sprocket to 16 tooth to keep parts inside of motor from coming outside.
4. Cut down rear fender extention piece. No longer a tail dragger.
5. Rubber mount foot pegs to keep teeth from chattering. (See $ 10.00 mod thread) Soft foam grips on order to reduce vibs at grips.
6. Supermoto decals on tank increased speed leaps and bounds and looks cool.
7. Moose racing rear fender storage bag ordered to carry tools and what nots.

Cab4less,
I have a XF200 with a few mods and the bike is currently in Fort Myers,FL but will be in the mountains on Western North Carolina in early May for the summer. Much more fun to ride her there.
Bar ends also
New tail light/turn signals combo.
Main jet 125 helped.

In my work in medical services development, I encourage doctors to do comparative research on various strategies in eye surgery, particularly for patients in rural, remote or underdeveloped regions. This gives insight for improving quality, efficiency and sustainability. A cornerstone to such research is having controls for comparison. Your description of the two bikes you and your son ride instantly made me think you could do a controlled study on how the XF200 responds under very different riding "strategies". The words "Jekyll" and "Hyde" also come to mind! It'll be fun to keep an eye on these bikes over the next couple of years!
thanks for sharing!jkp
