07-10-2012, 10:31 PMLast month as posted here I almost had a Heist within my grasp but a dealer tried to pull a fast one on me- a new bike for a bike that had lots-o-issues- sun damage, rust, paint chips in the gas tank etc... We try again tomorrow. Between 3 and 5pm a new Heist will be delivered. Fingers crossed! Can't wait! OY!

07-11-2012, 12:51 AMXetaprime - Sorry to hear about your dealer experience. Did you end up getting a bike? Most dealers are now out of stock due to high demand...

07-11-2012, 01:58 AMIt's arriving tomorrow. It's a New stock 2012 that someone bailed payment on. Otherwise I'd be waiting for the boat to arrive. Have heard new bikes are due in later this month. I was set for one of those but this one popped up. Will snap some pics tomorrow. I was actually seconds away from ordering the DF.

07-11-2012, 10:37 PMMy Heist done arrived!

First impressions- she looks sweet! Sadly the chain is so tight I'll have to jack her and adjust the tension- or, is it? Is it supposed to come tight as hell? Anyway this is my first real motorcycle so I'll be a practicing before I hit the road. Have owned a 150cc scoot and a 49cc moped so Yay! Go me :))) Oh and the keys and paper work are arriving separately and not here yet so can't even kick her over. The gas cap came drilled out already so that's something I won't have to do. Time to reread the threads again! D'Ohhh!
Best to all,
Xeta

07-11-2012, 10:55 PMVery cool. Where did you get it? It's crated. Not from a dealer? Let me know if you need any help...

07-11-2012, 11:04 PMDirect from Weaver Rides. As I said it was a bike someone failed to pay for. Good for me :)
Okay- like I wrote above the chain is really tight with no play at all. I know the chain will stretch but should I loosen it up off the bat? Fortunately I did buy a lift...
Best, Xeta

Whoa! A stock Heist, ain't seen one of those in forever, lol.
The chain should have about 1/2" of play. Unless it's ridiculously tight, I'd just leave it... it'll loosen up on it's own the first ride. While you're waiting change the oil, set the valves, charge the battery, ditch the sai. Get acquainted with the intimates man.
Good luck with it!
